Traffic Advisory Issued for Tiranga Rally in Srinagar

Srinagar: Authorities in Srinagar have issued a traffic advisory for the Tiranga Rally set to occur on August 12. The event will start at 5:00 AM and proceed until 10:00 AM, beginning at the Sher-e-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC) and concluding at the Botanical Garden.

The rally is expected to draw a substantial number of participants, including VIPs and dignitaries, which may lead to traffic delays. To manage the flow of traffic and reduce disruptions, a new route plan has been introduced.

Designated parking for official vehicles will be at the Royal Spring Golf Course, while participants are instructed to park at the Botanical Garden and Barista near Lalit Ghat.

Traffic will be restricted between Lalit Ghat and Kralsangri from 5:00 AM to 10:00 AM. Motorists traveling to Nishat, Shalimar, and Harwan are advised to use the Dalgate-Rainawari-Hazratbal route instead of Boulevard Road. Similarly, those coming from Harwan, Shalimar, and Nishat heading towards Lal Chowk should use the Foreshore-Hazratbal route, avoiding Nishat-Boulevard Road.

Commuters from Gulab Bagh, Zakoora, Naseembagh, and surrounding areas should take the Habak-Dargah-Khanyar route to Lal Chowk, avoiding Foreshore Road.

Participants are urged to park only in the designated areas; vehicles found parked illegally will be towed at the owner’s expense. Emergency vehicles will be permitted to use the shortest available routes, and the public can contact the Traffic Police Control Room at 103 for assistance.

The traffic department apologizes for any inconvenience and encourages everyone to plan their travel in advance.
