KPDCL Issues Power Outage Schedule for Kashmir – Check for Affected Areas and Times
Srinagar: The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has announced scheduled power outages in various parts of Srinagar and surrounding areas due to essential maintenance and infrastructure upgrades. The outages will occur between October 26 and October 31, 2024, as confirmed by the Chief Engineer of KPDCL.
The maintenance work includes reconductoring, pole erection, branch cutting, and preventive upkeep of several 33KV lines. These activities are deemed necessary to ensure a more stable and reliable power supply across the region.
Key areas to be affected are as follows:
October 26 & 28: Power supply will be disrupted from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM in Miskeen Bagh, Rozbal, Makhdoom Sahib, Hazaribagh, Jogi Lanker, JLNM Hospital, and adjacent areas due to the reconductoring of the 33 KV Khanyar-Rainawari line.
October 26: Soura, Zoonimar, Baspora, and Anchar will face outages from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM for the installation of a four-pole tower near Aiwah Bridge.
October 29 & 31: Areas around Cheshmashahi, Nishat, Shalimar, and Harwan will see disruptions from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM due to tree pruning along the 33KV Cheshmashahi-Brein Nishat and Cheshmashahi Shalimar Harwan lines.
Other areas to experience outages include:
October 26: Magam, Aripanthan, Budran, and Pethkanihama from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM for line stabilization work.
October 26: Shariefabad, Wadwan, and Soibugh from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM for maintenance on the 33 KV Shariefabad-Wadwan line.
October 26 & 27: Bemina, Karan Nagar, and Batamaloo areas from 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM for tree cutting and preventive maintenance on the 33 KV Bemina-Karan Nagar, Bemina-I/II, and Bemina-Exhibition lines.
October 27: Industrial estates in Khrew and Wuyan will face outages from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM for branch cutting along the 33 KV Pampore-SIDCO line, impacting cement plants and other industries.
October 26 & 28: Pulwama’s Tenghar, Pinglena, and nearby areas will experience power outages from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM for routine maintenance on the 33KV Pulwama-Pinglena Tap Line.
KPDCL urges residents and businesses in the affected areas to plan accordingly and apologizes for any inconvenience caused by these essential upgrades.
