38 Senior Police Officers, Including Several SSPs, Transferred in Kashmir
Srinagar, 14 November: The Government of Jammu and Kashmir has issued a major transfer and posting order for police officers across the region, effective immediately. This directive, outlined in Government Order No. 515-Home of 2024, aims to enhance administrative efficiency within the police force by reallocating officers to various key positions.
Among the notable reassignments, Sandeep Wazir, IPS, previously serving as SSP in the Anti-Corruption Breau (ACB), has now been appointed as AIG Personnel at the Police Headquarters (PHQ). Additionally, Gurinderpal Singh, IPS, has been assigned the role of SSP Poonch, and Rajesh Kumar Sharma, IPS, will now serve as SSP Doda. Other high-ranking officers, including Mumtaz Ahmad, IPS, and Bisma Qazi, IPS, have been posted to new positions to ensure balanced administration across various districts.
The Home Department’s decision includes further adjustments at multiple levels, involving officers stationed in districts like Reasi, Rajouri, and Baramulla. The restructuring also impacts command positions, with officers being posted to roles such as Commandant of different IRP battalions and new SSP assignments in locations like Ganderbal, Samba, and Handwara.
The order, authorized by Principal Secretary Chandraker Bharti, IAS, reflects the administration’s focus on addressing the immediate requirements of various districts while optimizing resource deployment for improved governance.
