JKSCERT Releases Academic Calendar-Cum-Syllabus for Grades 3rd to 8th for 2024-25
Srinagar, 13 November: The State Council of Educational Research & Training (SCERT) for Jammu & Kashmir has released the Academic Calendar-Cum-Syllabus for the 2024-25 session for students in grades 3rd to 8th. This follows the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which aims to shift from rote learning to competency-based and experiential learning.
The syllabus covers five main subjects: Mathematics, Science, English, Hindi/Urdu, and Social Science. It is designed to help students develop skills like communication, critical thinking, and decision-making. The focus is on creating informed citizens who understand and respect constitutional values.
In addition to the core subjects, the syllabus includes areas like Health and Physical Education, Life Skills, Values Education, Art Education, and Work Education. These subjects aim to support the overall development of students and prepare them for the challenges of the 21st century.
Teachers are encouraged to use various online platforms such as DIKSHA, NISHTHA, e-Pathshala, Swayam Prabha, and the SCERT and NCERT websites. These resources provide valuable learning materials that help teachers deliver inclusive education and stay updated on the latest teaching methods.
This syllabus is aligned with the guidelines from NCERT and the Student Assessment and Evaluation Scheme (SA&ES) issued by SCERT JKUT, ensuring a consistent and progressive approach to education. It is designed to help students in grades 3 to 8 achieve their learning goals in a balanced and effective way.
