Important Update About Golden Card Services in Kashmir Hospitals
Srinagar, Sep 03: The government has reaffirmed its commitment to providing uninterrupted treatment services under the Ayushman Bharat JAY SEHAT scheme.
This assurance follows recent reports indicating that dialysis patients have faced difficulties due to private hospitals either refusing treatment or demanding cash payments for services that should be covered under the Ayushman Bharat Jan Arogya Yojana (ABJAY) SEHAT scheme.
It has been clarified to the public that the Insurance Company, IFFCO Tokio, ceased its involvement with the scheme from March 15, 2024. As a result, Empanelled Health Care Providers (EHCPs) have not received payments for the services provided under the scheme.
Despite a High Court ruling instructing IFFCO Tokio to resume its responsibilities under the scheme, the insurance company has yet to comply, causing significant inconvenience to patients.
In response, the government has taken proactive steps to ensure that patients continue to receive free treatments under the scheme, particularly with the cooperation of private EHCPs.
A government spokesperson emphasized the commitment to delivering high-quality healthcare services to all residents of Jammu & Kashmir, assuring that no patient will be left without necessary care. To support this effort, the government has mobilized its public healthcare infrastructure to fill any gaps in service left by private EHCPs.
Patients who encounter issues with private EHCPs are urged to contact the toll-free number 104 to register their concerns. The State Health Agency (SHA) will ensure that such patients are directed to nearby public hospitals where they will receive free treatment under the scheme.
“There is no need for dialysis patients to worry about being denied treatment by private EHCPs. The Government of Jammu & Kashmir guarantees that all patients will receive timely and cost-free care under the Golden Card scheme. The J&K government remains fully committed to the principles of the AB-PM JAY/SEHAT scheme, prioritizing accessible and affordable healthcare for all. The health and well-being of our citizens are our top priority,” the spokesperson stated.
Patients are encouraged to call 104 for further information, support, and assistance.
