KPDCL Announces Power Shutdown Schedule in Kashmir for Maintenance
Srinagar, November 11, 2024: The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has scheduled power shutdowns in Srinagar and Sopore. These are planned for maintenance and upgrading of infrastructure.
According to the Chief Engineer of KPDCL’s Distribution Wing, the shutdowns aim to support the reconductoring of the 33 KV Habak-SKIMS line and replace damaged poles. These activities will be carried out if weather conditions permit.
The power shutdowns will affect several areas over specific dates. The Habak-SKIMS line shutdown is set for November 14, 18, and 23, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 04:00 PM. Areas impacted include Owantabhawan, Omer Colony, and parts of the 90 ft road.
The Amargarh-Sopore line will undergo a shutdown on November 16, 2024, from 09:30 AM to 04:00 PM. Affected areas include Sadiq Colony and New Colony in Sopore.
Additionally, the Amargarh-Arampora line shutdown is scheduled for November 16, 19, and 21, 2024, from 09:30 AM to 04:00 PM. This will affect Arampora, Panzipora, Sher Colony, and Bugoo.
KPDCL has advised residents in these areas to prepare accordingly. The corporation assures residents that these upgrades will contribute to a more reliable power supply in the future.
